PROMOTING YOUR JEWELRY BUSINESS ON A BUDGET

 By JoAnne Green

Articles in this series cover advertising and promotion of your jewelry while containing costs.

Due to the current economy, my advertising budget has been drastically reduced.  However, any experienced business person will tell you that advertising and promotion is what you cannot reduce if you plan to stay in business.  The secret is to review how you are promoting your business and look for ways to reduce costs while increasing exposure.

  1. Signage
  2. Business cards
  3. Brochures
  4. Mailers
  5. Discount cards
  6. Hang tags

All of the above are available for little to nothing from an online printing company.

When your primary sales venues are craft shows, you can easily be lost in the numerous booths surrounding you.  You need to stand out.  But you need to look professional, not like a perennial closeout store.

An identifiable logo, with an easy to remember store name are essential.  Your logo can be as simple as the consistent use of a special font for your store name or as high end as a logo design.

The articles in this series will cover some ideas I have used and some I have seen used.  My hope is that you will find something that strikes a cord for you.
