What’s New For September 2009

The move has been made, the window and display cabinets have been dressed and my supplies organized. Well–maybe not finished, a few tweaks are needed. But my new studio/shop location is really great.

I have had my second eye surgery to remove the cataracts. All went well. I go back in a couple of days to see what perscription I need. While a total sucess, my eyes pose enough problems that I will probably still need glasses. Not a problem, since I have worn glasses since I was 2 1/2 years old and find I feel naked without them.

More later when I can see this close stuff better.

My cataract surgery went well, however, the results were disappointing. While vision improved somewhat, the flap holding the lens implant in place is clouding up and will need to be corrected. This cannot occur until the 1st of the year, in order for the implant to be settled/healed fully. My near vision is improved and I am able to design again, however, if the glasses they are making for me do not improve my distance vision, I will soon have to stop driving. Which will mean curtailing my shop hours. AHH well, such is life. So long as I can see I will be OK.

My new booth location (that beautiful window) is already bringing in added business. This past week I did a $100 in one day, including a large special order that has more pieces to finish. Not a large amount I know, but remember this is not a craft fair booth. Traffic has really increased.
